Summer is Upon Us

Things are heating up and I've just spent what is becoming my annual summer opening solo overnight at the cottage. Car loaded to the hilt with furniture, lumber and other "necessities" for the season I drove up north for a two day work stint. At the end of it I had accomplished a fair bit! Stained the deck and picnic table for the first time, mowed the lawn, repaired the living room floor, planted a few tomatoes for Deb, got many mosquito bites, drank some beer and of course took a few very wonderful swims in the river! What I didn't plan on is how exhausted I would be after a day of intense work activity. This greatly contrasts my usual couch potato city being. I am now thinking of the summer projects ahead - building a new wood shed for our firewood and gardening equipment, time to photograph, a bit of R & R with family and friends! Oh and many hours in the canoe paddling up the river quietly contemplating life - you never know what you will find around the next bend!
